2026 EGA Journal 7 Submissions Info
To commemorate EGA's Garden States conference and celebrate community knowledge sharing, education, and research, we are now calling for submissions to EGA Conference Journal 7.
We invite you to share your knowledge, research, stories, ideas, and creative work with the Entheogenesis Australis community and help preserve and inspire the ongoing evolution of ethnobotanical and psychedelic knowledge.
Entheogenesis Australis (EGA), established in 2004, hosts one of the world's longest continuously running, volunteer-led ethnobotanical conferences, spanning more than two decades. Since 2007, the EGA Journal has been Australia's only regular ethnobotanical Journal, a highly respected publication that accompanies major EGA events. This year, we are releasing a journal celebrating the last EGA Garden States: Regeneration event. All past EGA presenters, as well as additional authors and artists, are invited to contribute. And yes, we are also accepting public submissions.
All previous EGA contributors are welcome to submit an article on any ethnobotanical or psychedelic topic or pass on works you have updated for republishing, provided they are still relevant to the EGA audience. For first-time contributors, we seek public submissions addressing ethnobotanical or psychedelic topics relevant to Australia and our surrounding region of Oceania.
To assist authors and ensure consistency across articles, we ask that you use this EGA style guide, which covers our expectations for referencing, word count, headings, and the like. Where possible, please include at least one image that we can use in the header of your article. Authors may wish to read these sample articles (1, 2, 3) from our previous conference journals to give an idea of what we’re looking for. Word count is expected to be between 600 and 2500 words. EGA journals are beautiful visual objects, so with that in mind, we will also accept art and photography submissions.
Article submissions are due by November 1, 2026.
Please submit your article via this Google submission form and attach the draft of your article, including images. You need to use a Google-related account (Make the submission with a friend's or partner's account if you do not have one) to submit via the form. If, for some reason, you cannot use the form, please print a copy of the form to fill out, scan your completed form, and email it to journal@entheogenesis.org with your article, including images. Articles submitted without the form will not be considered for publication.
The print publication is scheduled for early 2027, so we are working to a tight deadline. Due to limited space, some articles may be published online or in an extended digital copy of the journal.
