We invite you to join us for an important panel discussion around the recent and unfortunate misconduct in the area of psychedelic therapy, which has been covered in the media of late and is an ongoing issue as psychedelic mainstreaming continues at an ever growing rate.
The panel is titled "'Psychedelic Therapeutic Wonderland' - Misconduct within psychedelic-assisted therapy," featuring esteemed guests at the forefront of psychedelic research, the medical world, underground cycles, and the area of ethics and advocacy.
Unfortunately, Dr. Benjamin Sessa's case and those of others involving MAPS underscore the urgency of robust ethical frameworks within the field. With allegations surfacing and public scrutiny intensifying, we'll explore pathways for addressing misconduct concerns and fostering transparency in psychedelic therapy.
Our panellists include Martin Williams, a Senior Research Fellow advocating for evidence-based clinical translation of psychedelic-assisted therapies; Kayla Greenstien, a PhD candidate focusing on informed consent and theoretical orientations in psychedelic therapy; Lily Kay Ross PhD, a harm reduction advocate pioneering Critical Psychedelic Studies; David Nickles, an underground researcher and vocal opponent of psychedelic commodification; Dr Symon Beck, a mushroom enthusiast and harm reduction advocate with a background in medicine and psychiatry; and (Pixie) Sianna-Rose, founder of the Psychedelically Aware harm reduction network, passionate about community-led harm reduction initiatives.
