Drug myths, hoaxes & misinformation - exploring fact, fiction & the murk in-between

Myths about psychoactive drugs have been spread since time immemorial, and in modern times such information spreads much more vigorously. Some are quickly debunked, whilst others turn out to have some factual basis. In today's internet era, it can be hard to know what to believe, and the truth can often turn out to be a murky grey rather than black & white. From bananas to catfish, we will take a light-hearted look at some interesting examples, and discuss the need for both rigor and open-mindedness when assessing new claims.

Snu researches and writes about psychoactive agents from the natural world, with one foot in science and the other in mystico-spirituality. He is best known as the author of Garden of Eden (2009), a review and examination of current knowledge in the field.
