Towards a model of ethical drug supply in a post-prohibition world

Synopsis:

This lecture aims to create the foundations for a discussion about models of ethical drug supply. With growing recognition of the failure of prohibition, combined with increasing numbers of new drugs marketed and supplied online, there is a need for a conversation about ethical dimensions of drug supply in a post-prohibition world. I am proposing that a discussion on the ethical supply of substances requires the balancing of three dimensions. These include 1) the cultural context of substance use in Australia, 2) how to rank potential substance harms (including unknown harms), 3) logistic issues from: making -> marketing -> munching including environmental impacts, issues with outlets, and problems with marketing.
