RACHEL BY THE STREAM

RACHEL BY THE STREAM - UK ARTIST SIGNED TO AUSTRALIAN LABEL KINSHIP RECORDS

Synopsis:
‘Rachel by the Stream’ is a British-born singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who has travelled the world gaining the perspectives and insights that lead her to write funky folk songs - getting faces smiling and feet tapping! Before heading to the Southern hemisphere, Rachel charmed audiences across the UK (Sunrise Festival, Eastern Haze, Small World Festival, Wychwood Folk Festival, Big Green Gathering, Glastonbury) with her live looping and lyrical free flow. A self-taught guitarist, her background in classical piano and viola has given her the musicality to take up the multitude of instruments that now grace the stage with her. As well as the guitar, she draws on djembe, flute, melodica, harmonica and effects pedals to loop together her groovy folk-hop flavours. In 2010 she played at Renaissance Festival; Shine On; Maitreya and Apollo Bay Music Festival and provided dubbed out melodica for popular Melbourne dancehall/dub reggae outfit ‘Dub the Magic Dragon’. Rachel is currently based in Melbourne, recording songs for an album to be released on Kinship Records and playing shows and festivals locally and in NSW.
